Try the oldest form of self defence! Wrestling is an amazing sport to develop a youth's self-esteem. Experienced coaches will teach youth how to wrestle in a fun, positive and disciplined setting. The purpose of the program is to introduce elementary, junior and senior high aged youth to the sport. Wrestlers practice and compete according to their gender, age and weight.
Elementary aged students (7-11 years old) attend one practice a week for their age group. The main goal is to HAVE FUN and teach them the basics of wrestling with the option of attending one or two tournaments at the end of the season if they wish but it is not mandatory.
Junior and Senior High School students (aged 11-18) will be taught the basics of the sport to prepare them for local, regional, national or even international competition. Wrestling will develop strength, endurance, discipline and it will boost self-esteem. This is also a great supplemental sport for other sports as it builds strength and endurance.
Practices for the older group start on October 9th and the younger ones start November 13th and practices run until April:
Elementary ages Tuesdays 6:00-7:00 pm at the Sackville High Gym. Cost is $ 140.
For Junior and Senior High School aged students (ages 11-18) at Sackville High School Gym Tuesdays 6:00-8:00 and Sundays at Leslie Thomas gym 3:00-5:00. Cost is $240. It is only $50 if or each additional sibling.
